We're excited to introduce two newly certified instructors who are now serving communities in North Carolina and Tennessee.

While Mera Angel and Sara Holland come from different backgrounds, their paths share a common thread. They felt the impact of Infant Aquatics firsthand and chose to bring those same skills to other families.

Meet Mera Angel

Originally from Puerto Rico and raised in South Florida, Mera is a military spouse and mother of three.

After enrolling her own children in Infant Aquatics lessons, she experienced the confidence and peace of mind that comes from watching a child develop lifesaving water survival skills. When her family relocated, she realized there wasn't an Infant Aquatics instructor serving the Sneads Ferry, North Carolina area.

Instead of accepting that gap, she chose to help fill it.

Mera trained with Certifying Instructor Erin Loewe in Richmond, Virginia, and is now bringing Infant Aquatics lessons to both military and civilian families in her community.

"I felt compelled to bring this life-saving training to the area."

Meet Sara Holland

Sara Holland is a registered dental hygienist, wife, and mother of two daughters from Somerville, Tennessee.

After watching both of her girls complete Infant Aquatics lessons, she saw firsthand how valuable those skills were—and how much her community could benefit from greater access to them. That realization led her to Georgia for six weeks of intensive, hands-on training with Certifying Instructor Margie Herman.

During training, Sara discovered how her healthcare background—especially her understanding of a child's airway—naturally complemented her work in water survival instruction.

Now, she's excited to bring those skills home to serve families throughout West Tennessee.

"Giving a child the ability to save themselves in the water is a gift that is inexplicable."
