About Andrea

My name is Andrea Picklesimer, and I'm excited to be your trusted partner in teaching your child the invaluable skill of swimming. I live in St. George, Utah, with my husband and our two sons.

I have always loved the water. My parents signed me up for a neighborhood summer swim team when I was six years old and it changed the trajectory of my life. I soon joined a year round competitive swim team, and by high school I was teaching swim lessons and coaching a swim team. These experiences deeply shaped my understanding of swim techniques, discipline, and the spirit of sportsmanship.

After some time away from coaching, working an office job and then becoming a stay at home mom, I decided it was time to return to my passion. I became a certified Infant Aquatics® instructor through an intensive 6 week training in Longmont, Colorado, under the the guidance of Judy Heumann, the creator/founder of the Infant Aquatic Survival® program. The experience solidified my commitment to the swim-float-swim technique, which I firmly believe is crucial in teaching children ages 6 months to 6 years old to be able to self-rescue. It is my mission to bring this important skill to my community, where backyard pools and water sports are common. I believe strongly that learning water safety skills as early as possible is key to preventing accidents and creating a healthy respect for the water.

One of the most rewarding aspects of my job is not just teaching swimming skills, but also instilling a love of the water in my students. Every child should experience the joy and freedom that comes with being able to swim. I aim to ensure that every child can enjoy the water safely and confidently. Thank you for entrusting me with this important aspect of your child's development. I'm looking forward to meeting you and your little ones soon!
