Hi! My name is Blythe Koch. I grew up in Dallas, Texas, majored in psychology at Vanderbilt University, and worked in finance for 5 years before becoming a stay-at-home mom to 3 wonderful kids. When I learned that drowning is the leading cause of accidental death for children under age 5, water safety became a top priority for me. Even though we did not have a pool at our own house, we had plenty of friends and relatives who did. I enrolled my kids in lessons with an Infant Aquatics instructor when they were babies and toddlers, and not only did they learn life-saving skills, but they also became kids who LOVE to swim. People constantly marveled at how well they swam as tiny toddlers, and how much fun they were having as a result.
I am excited to now be sharing this life-saving and fun skill with other children as a certified Infant Aquatics instructor. I have logged over 120 hours of hands-on training with a master instructor with over 30 years of experience. I am also certified in Infant, Child & Adult CPR and First Aid. When I’m not teaching swimming, you might find me spending time with my family, volunteering at my kids’ schools, playing tennis, or riding a bike.
