About Camilla

Drowning is currently the leading cause of accidental death in children under 4 years of age in the US. It takes only a second for an accident to happen in which lifelong injury or death can occur. Drowning is nearly always preventable with the proper skills. As an Infant Aquatics Instructor, I provide life saving survival swim lessons to children ages 6 months to 6 years. With these lessons, your child will have the skills necessary to survive a water incident.

I first learned about Infant Swim Survival Lessons when my oldest son was around 2 years old. I immediately decided that I wanted him to have these lessons. After doing some research, I discovered that the closest instructor to me was about 2 hours away. Because the lessons are 4 days a week for 6 weeks...that just wasn't an option for us. After several friends also expressed their disappointment in not being able to have their children take these life saving lessons, I decided to pursue becoming an instructor. I am so excited to be able to provide these lessons to children in the Knoxville area.

At 6 months old, babies will learn to roll over and float on their backs until rescued. Once walking, they are taught to swim, float to breath, then swim again, repeating this until they make it to safety.

With the number of lakes, pools, ponds, etc in our area, these lessons could save the lives of many children. As a mother to 3 young boys, I recognize the importance of these lessons and hope to provide these life saving skills to as many children as possible.
