My name is Colleen Goldsmith, a certified Infant Aquatics Instructor, and owner of Rolling Waves Swim School. I am a lover of all things water, the outdoors, snowboarding, scuba diving, and spending time with family and friends.
I grew up in the suburbs of Chicago. In the summers, I would go to our neighborhood pool everyday. I learned to swim at a very young age and was competitively swimming by the age of 5. As I grew up, my love for water continued to get stronger. I spent all of my summer hours at our neighborhood pool and later became a lifeguard. I continued to compete in swimming throughout High School. Being a part of aquatic communities deeply shaped me into the person that I am today.
When I graduated High School, I moved to Montana for college and pursued a degree in education. As my love for children continued to grow, I couldn’t stay away from the water for long. During the summers in college, I decided to become a white water rafting guide outside of Glacier National Park. Navigating rivers, and informing people about enjoying the water while being safe deeply fulfilled me. I loved sharing my love of the outdoors and combining it with my love of the water.
After graduating college, my husband and I spent 6 months traveling the world. When we got home we decided to move to Colorado and I continued to pursue my career in education. I decided to get a Masters Degree in Educational Psychology and I taught 4th and 5th grade for 4 years. I loved being a teacher in public schools, but knew I needed to get back to the water.
I started to see facebook videos of children falling into bodies of water and safely swimming to destinations. I was intrigued, and ended up reaching out to Judy at Infant Aquatics to get trained. Over the past few years I have had the opportunity to work with amazing infant aquatic instructors from all over the country. I have taught hundreds of students to be safe in the water and would love the opportunity to share my passion of aquatics with your child.
I’m so excited to share my passion for the water safety with others.
Thank you for visiting and do not hesitate to ask questions!
