About Gail

Hi! I am Gail Harris and I am thrilled to be bringing Infant Aquatics to The Woodlands area.

I was originally certified as a Water Safety Instructor by the American Red Cross twenty five years ago; I have taught preschoolers all of my life. It was not until I participated in the swimming instruction of my own two children, both of whom were swimming before the age of two, that I understood how important and wonderful it was to teach infants the art of swimming.

I became certified in swimming instruction, lifeguarding, and life-saving techniques by the YMCA, and developed a large following while teaching at a local facility. Still, I felt the need to expand my teaching skills to include the youngest of infants.

Recently, I completed a very rigorous Infant Aquatics training program in Dallas; with over 100 hours of in-water training and learning the physiology, psychology, and development of the child between the ages of six months to six years as they apply to swimming and water survival.

Knowing that the leading cause of accidental death of this age group in Texas is drowning, and that 50% of the homes in The Woodlands have swimming pools, I feel it is vitally important to help young children learn to love the water and be able to enjoy it safely.

I specialize in water mastery rather than water acclimation, using a loving and playful approach that leads to a lifelong love of swimming.
