About Jennifer

My name is Jennifer DeLaCruz and I teach infant aquatic survival at my home in Azle during the summer months. I have been an instructor since 2007 and I am dedicated to teaching children water safety techniques that will allow them to have confidence and enjoy the water safely. I am certified in adult, child, and infant CPR, and first aid.

Prior to teaching swimming I was an elementary school art teacher for several years until I had children. When not teaching swim lessons I care for and home educate my six children.

I discovered Infant Aquatics after my oldest daughter fell into my mother's pool when she was only 20 months old. That was a huge wake up call for us and we were determined that she would learn how to swim. We enrolled her in the Infant Aquatics program with Bev Steinfink and were amazed at what she learned in only a few weeks. We were so impressed with her survival skills that I decided to train to become a survival swim instructor myself so that I too could teach these valuable skills. I completed an intensive six-week in-water training program as well as academic coursework to enable me to safely and effectively teach infants and young children lifesaving water skills. I loved the water growing up and was on the swimming and diving team in high school and college. With my background in teaching, this profession seemed a perfect fit.

As a parent of young children, I urge you to consider whether your child is prepared to safely enjoy the water. I would love to share this gift with your family.
