My name is Jennifer Hemenway and I grew up in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. I am a certified Infant Aquatics Instructor, and the owner of GG's Infant Aquatics Academy.
I have been around water my entire life. You will often find me at a pool, lake or beach. I raised my kids to love the water as well. They were taught to swim at a very young age and went on to be competitive swimmers throughout their adolescence. I was very involved in their teams and on their swim boards.
Over the last few years, I was introduced to children as young as 6 months old learning life saving skills if they were in the water alone. I was AMAZED. When I became a Gigi I decided that I wanted to learn to teach these life saving skills. One thing that has not changed since my kids were little is that drowning is the leading cause of accidental death in children five and under. Knowing there are steps you can take in preventing this has motivated me to learn to teach and share these techniques to everyone child I know. Drowning is preventable.
I am thrilled to have trained and logged more than 250 hours of hands on training from two of the best instructors in the industry. I am certified in Adult, Child and Baby First Aid/CPR/AED and Safety Training for Swim Coaches from American Red Cross. I am so excited to share my passion for water and bring safety and life saving skills to a new generation. Together we can prevent drowning and teach our children to survive, swim and thrive in the water.
