About Jeri

My name is Jeri Ybarra and I became a Certified Infant Aquatics Instructor in May of 2023. After spending 3 years as a part-time Groups and Maintenance Instructor for Infant Aquatics of Lubbock, I finally decided to pursue my passions full-time, and become a Certified Swim Instructor for IA of LBK! I'm thrilled to be able to continue to serve the children of Lubbock and the surrounding areas!

A swimmer for life, I began “living in the pool” at the age of 11 when I joined my first swim team. From there I continued to excel in the sport, swimming competitively for junior high, high school and club teams. My passion for swimming led me to also Life Guard and teach “learn-to-swim” lessons to children during the summers.

I attended Texas Tech University for my undergrad degree, and graduated from Humboldt State University in California with my Master's in Business Administration and Sustainability. I have a passion for swimming, and a life-long love for the water regardless if it's a pool, a lake, a beach, or a hot tub. I truly hope to be able to share that love for the water with your kiddos, while also reinforcing a healthy respect for the danger that water can bring. My heart breaks and aches hearing of the many drowning incidents that occur across the state of Texas. At Infant Aquatics of Lubbock, we are passionate about making drowning awareness more prevalent in our area, and want to help equip all West Texas families with life-saving skills!
