My name is Kristina Hathcock, I am a Mom to 4 beautiful children here and one sweet angel baby girl in heaven. Being a mom and spending time with my family is my most favorite thing!
I became interested in becoming a survival swim instructor after 2 of my youngest children went through a similar survival swim/float/swim method and learned so quickly how to save themselves should they ever fall in water. I knew then that I had to get certified to teach this amazing method and help other children to be water safe! My two older girls went through traditional swim lessons for 6 years and still could not swim independently, and I did not feel comfortable having them in water without floaties. When we built our pool I knew my youngest at the time needed to learn to swim quickly and that I didn't have years for him to hopefully learn, I knew he needed to learn NOW. It was worth every penny and in the long run it saved me time and money having him learn so quickly!
In 2016 I became certified with one of the leading swim schools in the state of Florida and completed 200 hours of intensive, hands on, in water training to teach this proven method. In 2020 I was ready to take my training up a notch and made the decision to travel to Colorado for four weeks of training with Judy Heumann, founder of Infant Aquatics. The experience opened my eyes and has given me the knowledge to teach safer and more effective lessons in a shorter period of time.
I hold current adult/child/infant CPR/AED & First Aid Certification. My mission is to reduce the number of pediatric drownings and to develop a love for swimming with a focus on competency. Helping babies and children learn to save their own lives, and enjoy the water safely is such a rewarding feeling! I Love what I do!
