About Libby

My name is Libby McFarland. I am excited to bring survival swim lessons to children in Northwest Arkansas! I grew up swimming in the backyard of my Mimi's pool to lifeguarding at age 16. I continued my love for sports throughout college where I played collegiate softball for Pittsburg State University in Kansas. There, I met my husband Mike, also a Kansas native. Years later, we settled in Fayetteville, AR (Woo Pig Sooie!) and welcomed our first son, Maxwell, to our family in November 2013. I learned about Infant Aquatics through my sister who lives in Kansas. At the time, my three year old niece was enrolled in SuperStar Aquatics with Leslie Harrison. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw the one-on-one approach to the swim-float-swim technique. At that moment, I realized the importance of teaching our children lifesaving swim skills. The progress she made when I took her at the end of her six week session was impressive.

When my son turned six months old, I researched swim courses in my area and was disappointed in the results. The nearest instructor was two hours away, which was not feasible for us. For nearly ten years, I worked as an accountant for several large corporations. I grew tired of the corporate environment and wanted to pursue something I was passionate about while spending more time with my family. The decision to quit my job and become an instructor came naturally.

We are surrounded by many pools, lakes, and ponds in our area. As a mother to two little boys, I recognize the importance of providing children confidence in the water. I look forward to teaching children swim skills that will be learned in weeks not years. I am confident these lessons will benefit families across NW Arkansas!
