About Mallory

Hello, I am Mallory Hudgens, and I live in Northeastern Oklahoma. My whole life I have spent mostly on, in or near the water with my family; I was also a competitive swimmer when I was young. After receiving my degree in Early Childhood Education five years ago, I began teaching at a small public school near my hometown. I had always wanted to work with young children and wanted to be able to make a positive impact on their life, so this was a great start to my career.

In the year 2020 I became a proud mom of a beautiful baby girl. With the amount of time my family spends on the water, I quickly became concerned about her water safety. At 8 months old, I enrolled my daughter in the Infant Aquatics program at Ready. Set. Float! , where she became a wonderful floater. As a parent I got to see just how amazing this program is!

In my last few years of teaching I slowly became more removed from the younger children, which is my passion. I had been contemplating a career change in which I could get back to working with infants and toddlers, as well as be able to spend more time at home with my daughter. An opportunity to work at Ready. Set. Float! became available and I decided I had to take advantage of this amazing opportunity or I would always regret it!

I traveled to Colorado and spent an intense 6 weeks of hands on training with Judy Heumann which included learning the physiology, psychology, and development of a child between the ages of 6 months to six years as they apply to swimming and water survival. I am so excited to be a part of the Ready Set Float! team as a certified Infant Aquatics instructor and to help as many children as I can become water safe!
