My name is Nicholle White, I am a Certified Infant Aquatics Instructor teaching children ages 6 mo. to 6 years the lifesaving skill of Swim Float Swim. I am excited to be part of the Infant Aquatics team! I have been around water my entire life as I am originally from Boca Raton, FL and was in the pool at only a few weeks old. When I was 6 years old, we moved to Lubbock Texas to a house with a pool, so the water never went away. I was raised by my mom who was a pediatric neonatal nurse and safety was always a top priority growing up.
While I am not a Lubbock native I have lived in Lubbock for the past 20 years. My first job was teaching at a local daycare starting in 2017. I was so thankful for the opportunity to start working with children as I have a passion for child development. I graduated from South Plains College with a Pre-Engineering Degree in 2020 and when this opportunity arose to be around more kiddos and teach them such an important lifelong skill, I could not pass it up. Throughout college I worked as a live-in nanny for a family in Lubbock with 4 kids (2 boys and 2 girls ranging 7 years to 3 mo.). Being a nanny was so much more than just a job and became a way of life for me and now those kids are my everything. I am also the queen of being busy, so I have a lot of smaller jobs in my off time. I work in my church’s children’s program and nursery; I part-time Nanny/Babysit for some amazing families throughout Lubbock and surrounding communities; I also participate in JBF Kids consignment sales across the state. As you can see, I am not one to shy away from new adventures and I am always looking to learn something new.
I am First Aid and CPR certified for adult, children and infants. I also completed a six-week Infant Aquatics training in Dallas, Texas under Bev Steinfink. During those 6 weeks, I participated in over 100 hours of in-water training and studies in child development, behaviorism, psychology and anatomy and physiology. I am so beyond excited to add Infant Aquatics Swim Instructor to my list of accomplishments. A few fun facts about me I am an only child, and a dog mom to a dachshund named Ariel. My favorite color is pink, and my favorite hobbies are traveling and going to garage sales.
Drowning is the leading cause of accidental death for children under 5. Childhood drowning IS preventable, and I am so excited to meet you and your littles and teach them the survival swimming skills every child needs.
