Hello fellow fish friends! My name is Jenna Hale. I am a born and raised Arizonian, and I have a true love for the desert. I am a mom to multiples and love the chaos of family life. My family is my everything, and I genuinely love working hard with my husband to build the life we have, while watching my children grow and experience the world. In high school, I worked as a lifeguard and WSI instructor, where I discovered how much I enjoyed working with children and getting them excited and comfortable in the water. That experience stayed with me and continued to shape my passion for helping children learn to swim.
In college, I developed a strong interest in health and fitness and earned my degree in Healthy Lifestyles and Fitness Science from ASU. I went on to become a certified Personal Trainer through NASM, where I gained a deeper understanding of body mechanics, proper form, skill progression, and the science of movement. I loved personal training and the opportunity to help people become stronger and healthier, but I still felt there was something more I wanted to contribute to my community. I wanted to use my knowledge and passion for movement and teaching in a way that could make an even greater impact—by helping prevent the leading cause of death in infants and teaching children lifesaving skills that could protect them in the water.
As a mom living in an area surrounded by pools and water, water safety has always been something close to my heart. Drowning prevention became especially personal to me because drowning has affected members of my own family. I didn’t know about survival swim lessons until I met my husband, whose brother had gone through the program as a young child—and those skills ultimately saved his life. When I first watched the lessons, I was amazed by what these little children were capable of learning. Seeing them gain the ability to swim-float-swim independently, respond to an unexpected situation, and take control of what could otherwise be a frightening moment was incredibly empowering. What touched me most, though, was seeing how much the children genuinely enjoyed it. They weren’t just learning potentially lifesaving skills—they were building confidence, independence, and a love for the water. That experience made me realize how meaningful it would be to help other children develop those same skills and give their families greater peace of mind around the water.
Upon discovering the world of infant survival swim, I was drawn to Infant Aquatics and the unique way they teach. I love that their approach combines play and swimming, creating an experience that is both purposeful and fun for children while helping them develop important lifesaving skills.
After talking with Judy and learning about her more than 50 years of experience teaching infants and children to swim, I knew I had found the program I wanted to train with. The past six weeks of training with Judy and her team have been truly amazing and eye-opening. Being in the water every day, working hands-on with infants and toddlers, has given me an entirely new understanding of child development, drowning prevention, and what it takes to build confident swimmers and floaters.
What makes this experience so special is the opportunity to learn directly from Judy and her team. Each instructor brings their own background, knowledge, and years of experience, and I feel incredibly fortunate to learn from each of them. The training has challenged me, inspired me, and given me the tools and confidence to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and their families.
I am so excited to take everything I have learned back home to Arizona and bring these lifesaving skills to my community. Knowing that the work I do can help save a child’s life makes this journey incredibly meaningful, and I can’t wait to get started!
