About Ryan

Hello! My name is Ryan Watterson, and I am very excited to be an Infant Aquatics instructor! Growing up in Fredericksburg, my parents put me in swim lessons at a young age and always stressed the importance of knowing how to swim. My childhood home had a pool in the backyard, which made it that more important that I know how to not only swim, but survive in case of emergency. As a father of two beautiful daughters, my wife and I wanted our children to possess the same set of survival swim skills so that they are comfortable and confident around any body of water.

My wife and I enrolled our two year old daughter in the Otterly Safe Infant Aquatics program, and I was instantly intrigued by the entire process! After speaking with the instructors, Taylor and Allysa, I realized that I wanted to help teach children and their families these different techniques. I truly believe that there is nothing more gratifying than teaching a set of foundational life-saving skills. As an IA instructor, I look forward to teaching every child the unique swim-float-swim approach that provides them with the ability to survive and thrive as a confident swimmer.
