I’m Sara Holland, Infant Aquatics Survival Instructor and founder of Blubber Buddies Infant Aquatics. My husband, Justin, and I live in Somerville, TN, with our two daughters.
I am a registered dental hygienist, and while I love caring for my patients, I also have a passion in my heart for helping children learn water safety skills. Giving a child the ability to save themselves in the water is a gift that is inexplicable.
After watching my two girls go through infant aquatics lessons, I realized how much our community needed more instructors. Inspired by the impact these lessons had on my family, I took a leap of faith and traveled to Georgia for six weeks of intensive hands-on training to become an Infant Aquatics Survival Instructor.
With drowning being the leading cause of death for children ages 1-4, I am honored to offer these lessons to local families. My goal is to help children gain confidence in the water while giving parents peace of mind knowing their child has valuable water survival skills if faced with a water incident.
Throughout my training, I learned so much about child development, psychology, and behavior. I was surprised by how often I relied on my background as a dental hygienist, especially my knowledge of a child’s airway. It’s amazing how these two passions have come together to help me serve children and families in a new way!
